Young volunteers clear up at local snooker club

Local young volunteers braved the cold just before Christmas to help clear up at a local Snooker Club.

The MMI snooker club in Forest Town reached out to Mansfield Community and Voluntary Service (MCVS) in December, asking if they could receive some help in clearing a very leafy car park.

Su Hallam, the Volunteer Development & Engagement Officer at MCVS contacted local project, My Place to ask if they had any young people who would like to get involved and volunteer their time. They responded quickly to say they would be happy to help!

Ten volunteers and their tutor came along and cleared over 50 large bags of leaves and litter from the car park! They also collected a few special leaves that will be used as part of an art project.

This partnership work was as part of the Point of View (POV) Project, which engages young people in volunteering opportunities.
