Mansfield CVS Update on Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Coronavirus (COVID-19)  Information

We are currently co-ordinating a daily digital community update for the Mansfield District which will be uploaded each weekday.

We are taking this coordinated approach in response to what is happening in the local community as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the implications it is having.

Today's update video can be found here

A word version of the update can be downloaded here

An information sheet about Coronavirus can be dowloaded here

If you would like us to share any information, please send a brief update (Mansfield related information) to jwakefield@mansfieldcvs.org

Community House:

Community House is now closed until further notice.

We are no longer running group sessions, such as Job Club or Dementia Friends for the foreseeable future.

Our telephone line is still open. If you need advice or information, call us on 01623 392 444.

Volunteering:

We have closed the 1-1 function of our Volunteer Bureau until further notice. However we are offering digital and telephone support for volunteers and working with the Red Cross to help support those in need across the Mansfield District.

We care very deeply about those affected by this pandemic, particularly those in social isolation, we will be releasing further information on support across the district in the coming days.

Engagement and Community:

We are currently mobilising Digital platforms to still be able to provide reach to the community and our partners.

We are also putting together daily updates which are available at the top of this page.

Outreach and Engagement – If people in our community need support, but do not know where to find this, we are actively signposting and supporting, we ask members of the community to call 01623 392444.

Additional:

One thing I do would like to share is this. The levels of anxiety this pandemic is causing is really upsetting. The constant news, misinformation and the risk of people being socially isolated for weeks is frightening. I encourage everyone we know, and each other to try and switch off for at least an hour a day, spend time with family, listen to music, have a bath, play games, laugh and love. I know this isn’t exactly advice, but I’m really aware about how this can affect our mental wellbeing. Look after yourselves and each other. And if you need to chat with me about anything concerning you please get in touch.
