Volunteer Hosting project lead
Role Summary
As a volunteer Hosting Project Leader at FoodCycle, you’ll act as the maître’ d of the team, running your Project’s front of house and helping to create a warm, friendly atmosphere that will make both volunteers and guests want to return each week. Your team of volunteers will lay the tables, greet guests, and serve the food – all under your guidance! You’ll be helping to build a resilient community through the sharing of delicious food and conversation, including reducing loneliness and contributing to improving the mental health and wellbeing of guests and volunteers
No experience needed, we provide full training and support during sessions. DBS check is required and expenses are reimbursed up to £15. We recommend that our project leaders run a session once a month. Volunteers must be 18+.
Our Sutton-in-Ashfield project runs every Wednesday, with host leads starting at 5pm and finishing at 8pm. We are based at The Magdalene Centre, Church Ave, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 2EB.
Our Hucknall project runs every Sunday, with hosting leads starting at 12pm and finishing at 3pm, at the Central Methodist Church, Baker Street, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, NG15 7AS.
