Support Group Facilitator
Role Summary
Volunteers are invaluable and help make DCA what it is. Without our current volunteers, we would not be able to fulfil our successful telephone befriending service and raise vital funds to support Carers.
We are looking for volunteers across Derbyshire to support our team out in the community, from home or in the office.
We are currently looking for a SUPPORT GROUP FACILITATOR.
The purpose of the role is to support specific groups of adult Carers, 1 day per month with flexible time in between for research and planning.
Responsibilities:
To facilitate a specific support group of Carers monthly. Be able to source information from the internet that is of interest and help to Carers and their Cared For. To arrange guest speakers for future events and plan outings etc.
Experience/Skill:
Experience facilitating a group of adults is desirable or similar role. Be able to source information using the internet and have a good telephone manner. Be patient and a good listener with a sense of humour. Be approachable and able to work on own initiative.
Training:
Basic training on office procedures will be given and future training which will be free will be discussed as necessary.
Supervision/Evaluation:
You will receive an interview and induction, a discussion of the role and any expectations.
The Volunteer Co-ordinator will be available to provide you with ongoing support while you are in the office. You will also be given regular opportunities to give and receive feedback.
