Volunteer

Befriender

Role Summary

B:friend is a charity that supports the new friendship of a volunteer and older neighbour, by reconnecting people aged 65 and above with their community and the people in it. Our volunteer befrienders help us tackle the huge problem that is loneliness and social isolation. We are looking for people who want to give back to the community or just do something nice and uplifting for someone. Someone who is comfortable striking and sustaining a conversation, is a good listener and has empathy.

If you’re happy to give an hour of your time a week to keeping an older neighbour company, or similarly if you know of any older neighbour who could benefit from some company, then please get in touch with B:friend by visiting The website here or via email on info@letsbfriend.org.uk
