Volunteer Befrienders (Visiting)

Role Summary

We are recruiting Volunteer Befrienders who can give a minimum of one hour per week, every week (with weekday/daytime availability).

Tasks include

  • Visiting older person/s in their home every week
  • Providing friendship/Companionship
  • Chatting and socialising

If mobility allows:

  • Walk with the person in the local community
  • Take the person out for a cupp and a chat
  • Shop with them (not for them)
  • Encourage them to undertake new activities and accompany them on their first visit
