Befrienders

Role Summary

The Butterfly project is part of an End of Life Care Together Service that are provided across Mid-Nottinghamshire. Our aim is to support you & those important to you to access care.

We understand the impacts life limiting illness can have on those around you so we are here to guide you with your choices as well as provide practical & emotional support to help relieve stress, anxiety and social isolation.

Individuals required to provide practical, emotional and compassionate support to individuals who are in the last year of life and those important to them in a place of their choice e.g hospital/community setting. Befrienders will provide support to service users and families by offering companionship and comfort. This can include visiting service users within the home as a companion, providing support with sign posting to local services or form filling such as benefit applications. Befrienders may also support service users to access the community by supporting attendance to local groups or accompanying individuals to activities. A minimum of 1 hour per week.
