Working in Residential Child Care is no ordinary job, therefore, to fill our vacancies we only want extraordinary people.
We are looking for committed and resilient individuals to work with children within our mainstream residential homes, or within our childrens disability residential homes. The work is challenging but rewarding – and you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference to a child’s life.
Experience influences behaviour and, as a result, our children can display challenging and sometimes very risky behaviours. We are aspirational for the children we care for and work relentlessly to maximise their full potential in all areas of development. You will join a developing team, determined to work hard to meet the needs of the children we look after.
The role requires you to have NVQ3/Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare. If you do not already have this you will be enrolled on the course, which is funded by the authority. Ideally you will have at least 6 months experience of working with children, young people or adults either in a voluntary, work or other relevant setting.
This is a 24 hour a day service therefore you will be required to work a variety of shifts including, evening, weekends and bank holidays.
Shift work has an impact on your lifestyle, and you should consider this before applying. Our evening, weekend and bank holiday shifts attract enhanced payment therefore increasing your basic salary for this post and, on average, this could be around an additional £2800 per annum.
