Placement Coordinator

Role Summary

Designation: Placement Coordinator

Salary: £26,421-£26,873 per annum pro rata

Location: Broxtowe Youth Homelessness (Stapleford) with travel across Nottinghamshire

Hours of Duty: 25 hours per week, flexible working across the working week

Responsible to: Manager

This post is currently funded until 31st March 2025.


1. Engage with young people in care and support them to access the Care 2 Work project.

2. Deliver ‘Care to Work’ training to provide the skills young people need for the workplace and help determine potential career paths.

3. Establish and develop work placement opportunities with local businesses for care leavers.

4. Work with businesses to prepare for a care leaver to be placed with them, including initial meeting, safeguarding, health and safety, scheme of work and point of contact.

5. Support care leaver with initial meeting at work placement.

6. Work with care leavers before placement to organise practical elements of their work placement, e.g transport, clothing, lunch, etc.

7. Support both care leaver and business through the work placement, including one visit during placement and any problem solving.

8. Gather feedback from care leaver and business after the work placement.

9. Help the young person to obtain a reference from the business and understand the skills they have gained from the experience to support their future career paths.

10. Provide feedback and data to support the project and be used demonstrate the importance of the project.

11. Any other duties which may be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities of the post as defined. This is subject to the provision that normally any changes of a permanent nature shall be incorporated by negotiation into the Job Description in specific terms.
