Equation, a Respect-Accredited specialist domestic abuse support service for men is looking for an empathetic and sensitive Helpline & Admin Project Worker to work as part of our growing and developing team. This is a fantastic role for someone who is passionate about domestic abuse support and prevention and has previously worked in the sector, or someone who wants to start a career in this area.

The role will involve a balance between admin and helpline tasks but calls from survivors will be the priority. You will need to provide callers with a friendly and understanding first point of contact to ensure their wishes and needs are met, and that they have a positive experience of the service. The successful candidate will be responsible for triaging helpline calls, inputting referrals and maintaining administrative functions. You will need to be a team player, be organised and flexible, and whilst abiding by GDPR and maintaining confidentiality.

Previous experience in domestic abuse or frontline work is not essential as a full induction and training plan will be put in place for the successful candidate, including sufficient domestic abuse training. However, we would ideally like an individual that has strong administration skills and experience clearly communicating via phone and email. It is essential that you are passionate about supporting others.

Equation is committed to safeguarding, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As part of this, we undertake DBS checks for all roles in our service at an enhanced level.
