Health Event for Residents of Bellamy Estate

Residents of the Bellamy Estate in Mansfield were offered health support at a pop-up event this week.

The event which took place on Monday 24 January, had been organised through the Community Champions scheme (led by Mansfield CVS) in partnership with the NHS, Mansfield District Council (MDC) and Notts County Council (NCC).

Residents were invited to pop along to Trowell Court Community Centre, where a range of healthcare service providers were available.

The NHS mobile vaccination service and NCC Lateral Flow Testing (LFT)site were set up in the car park, and refreshments and GP sign up support services were offered inside the Community Centre.

• 19 people took up the offer of a vaccination
• 13 people were supported to undertake LFTs on the day
• 130 boxes of LFTs were handed out to local residents

Colleagues from Kings Mill Hospital (Trustees), MDC, MCVS, Mid-Notts Place Based Partnership, Rosewood Primary Care Network and Vision West Notts were all at the event to talk to the community.

The event was supported by Friends of Bellamy and Bellamy Tenants & Residents Association.

The effectiveness of the event is currently being evaluated and future events will be planned with input from the community.

For more information on the pop-up day and other forthcoming events please contact Lesley at Mansfield CVS lwatkins@mansfieldcvs.org or call 01623 392444.
