Lifeskills Education Charity
Summary
We are the Leading Provider of Prevention Education in the UK. We design age-appropriate programmes that help children make safe and confident decisions in risky situations, such as substance misuse, knife and hate crime, and online harms. Our misogyny/domestic violence programme is coming in 2025.
Our programmes use our STaRS and Skill Decision-Making Models to help young people practice working through real-life scenarios in a safe and secure setting. We offer a whole-school approach to prevention education, offering programmes for every primary-level age group, years 1 through 6.
We are committed to understanding our impact and have a full Outcomes Framework with data collection tools to assess our performance against our goals available to schools taking part. Our Primary Programme for year 6 has been subject to two independent large-scale randomised control sampled evaluations, which show the programme to be effective.
The Youth Endowment Fund conducted the most recent evaluation and held the programme up as an example of an effective prevention education tool in their recent report, Education, Children and Violence. We can provide resources and training for teachers anywhere in the UK. The programmes come with a full set of lesson plans and digital resources to ensure effective delivery. For schools located across the East Midlands and South Yorkshire, we can offer fully facilitated delivery by one of our trained delivery staff.
Our programmes help young people understand risk, think about the consequences and make better, more informed choices in a wide range of situations, learning transferable skills that will apply to new and emerging threats as they arise.
