Lesley has worked at Mansfield CVS since 2006, and is currently the ‘Partnerships & Engagement Manager’.
Lesley is qualified in Information, Advice & Guidance and has a degree in Community Development & Regeneration, and her passion is working with groups and individuals to help them fulfil their potential.
Lesley works closely in partnership with colleagues from a variety of organisations and oversees the Service Level Agreement with Mansfield & Ashfield CCG, Volunteer Centre, BIG Warsop programme and Volunteer Awards Group.
Lesley was previously a Development Worker for Vision West Notts, and believes strongly in the benefits of lifelong learning. Lesley has a passion for cooking outside of work, and is famed for her sausage rolls which she makes not only for the fundraising bake sales, but also for her ever increasing brood under the guise of her alter ego ‘Nanny Barb’.
I started working at Mansfield CVS aged just 18, initially as an admin apprentice studying a level 2 NVQ and later progressing to doing a “Higher” apprenticeship (NVQ level 3). It was my first job and when I began working here I had very low self-confidence and no practical work experience at all! Due to the nature of the work, helping other charities in the local area, and the lovely people I work with, I soon discovered I really enjoy working in the charity sector and would be very happy to have a career in it – something I had never considered prior to joining MCVS.
