Workwise Healthcare Limited provide initially tailored person-centred care packages in the home from 1 to 24 hours using fully trained teams of care workers, relieving the pressure on relatives who can relax in the knowledge that their loved one is getting the highest quality of care. Ring & Ride provides a door to door service for people of all ages who find it difficult to use public transport. Jigsaw - Supporting Independence at Home - is a local Nottinghamshire charity who provide a holistic range of services to help people to remain at home - safe, well and with choice, dignity and control for as long as possible. They also offer a befriending service which matches volunteers to those in need of company and friendship, as well as a group befriending which are friendly and informal pub lunches at various venues in the local community. 'Together we are better' is a free service and the aim is to help find promising relationships by gathering information from a specially designed questionnaire. Age UK Connect
Connect is friendly, problem-solving short-term support service with a focus on helping people self-manage their independence. A team of skilled and experienced Support and Outreach Workers offer information, advice, signposting and practical support around physical and mental health, care needs, housing, finances, social interaction, and engagement with community.
The free service is available to any adult at risk of reducing or losing their independence through age, mobility, disability, health conditions or bereavement. Support can be given over the telephone or face to face. Connect can help people access advice and information; gardeners, cleaners and handyperson services; aids and adaptations; social activities, clubs and groups; support groups, advocacy and talking therapy; welfare benefits; financial and legal advice; available transport; exercise and falls classes; help manage long term conditions including dementia; carer support; housing and care options; and much more.

I started working at Mansfield CVS in March 2010 on the Future Jobs programme. My initial post was as a clerical support worker.
