Partnership Working

Partnership Working

There are many changes happening nationally and, therefore, locally in the health and social care community, not least in the role of Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) of which Mansfield and Ashfield CCG is one.

Public Health and Health Education is now part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s remit alongside Social Care Services.  Partnership working across the statutory and voluntary sectors is recognised as essential in order to meet national and local targets for improving the delivery of health and social care services to the general public.

As well as working closely with the CCG’s Practice Liaison Manager, Lesley Watkins - the manager of our Partnerships & Engagement Team - is the Vice Chair on the Citizens Reference Panel a sub-group of the CCG’s governing body and Chair of the Older Person's Consultation Group hosted by Mansfield CVS.  The team works with Mansfield District Council and Notts County Council and gathers views from members of groups whose voices might not be heard, particularly older people and those with learning disabilities.

Citizens' Reference Panel

The Citizens’ Reference Panel meets bi-monthly between 5 30 pm and 7 30 pm on a Tuesday and its role is to:

  • provide a two way communication channel between patients, carers and the public and NHS Mansfield and Ashfield  Clinical Commissioning Group
  • co-ordinate the engagement of patients, carers and the public who wish to be involved in the consultation, planning and commissioning of health services in Mansfield and Ashfield
  • encourage and support active participation in health and wellbeing in the community
  • ensure wider engagement with partner agencies
