Macmillan Beyond Diagnosis - Service Coordinator – 2 posts

£24,000 per annum Full-time (37hrs per week)

Self Help UK is proud to be working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to deliver our innovative Beyond Diagnosis Service that provides fully trained volunteers to offer one-to-one practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer and encourage the uptake of cancer self help groups and self-care support. Following the success of the project in Nottingham and Mid Nottinghamshire, Macmillan Cancer Support have funded the extension of the project into the south of the county to March 2020 (continuation funding will be a goal of the project team). We have a vacancy for our Nottingham Service Coordinator and a new post to cover the south county boroughs of Rushcliffe, Broxtowe and Gedling.

Self Help UK is proud to be working in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to deliver our innovative Beyond Diagnosis Service that provides fully trained volunteers to offer one-to-one practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer and encourage the uptake of cancer self help groups and self-care support. During 2017, the service undertook work with the Deaf, Deafened and Hard of Hearing people to look at ways in which the service could be inclusive of the support needs of people from the Deaf community. Working with Deaf people, this new post will work to co-produce new and innovative ways to support Deaf people along their cancer journey, working with volunteers where appropriate, the project will be led by a steering group of interested people.

We are looking for a time-served tradesperson who must be competent in undertaking all types of gas services and gas repairs to wide range of boilers and appliances to tenanted and empty properties. The post holder will also be required to undertake plumbing duties as and when required.  You will also need to have experience of working in occupied properties and understand the importance of providing good customer care. The ability to work using your own initiative with minimum supervision and able to multi-skill is essential.  Additionally, you will also require a full UK Driving Licence.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Enforcement Officer to cover maternity leave in the Environment and Public Protection Team.  This could be on a fixed term contract or on a secondment basis for a 9 month period beginning in February 2018.

 

The post holder will actively engage with the public, following a request for service, by means of inspection and investigation to determine a satisfactory conclusion.  The work will be undertaken independently and through partnership working to help deliver the best possible level of service for the customer and the District.

 

Duties include investigating nuisance complaints, waste accumulations on land and air pollution issues.  You may also be involved in investigating insufficient drainage matters and commenting on minor planning applications.
