Grants for the Arts, Environment and Social Action in the UK

Grants for the Arts, Environment and Social Action in the UK

Funding is available to registered, excepted or exempt charities with an income of between £100,000 and £10 million, that are doing work that has a national footprint or a wide reach, such as working in more than one country, region or county. Occasionally organisations that work locally may receive funding if the work has national significance through good potential for replication or being rolled out on a larger scale. Preference is given to smaller niche national charities.

Support is available for core funding, projects and programmes.

The minimum grant available is £10,000. There is no maximum limit but grants over £100,000 are unusual. Most grants are for two or three years.

Please note that demand for funds is high. Funding is not available for a number of things, including but not limited to: capital developments, individual items of equipment, prisons and offenders, one-off events, animal welfare, captive breeding and animal rescue centres, education, such as initiatives linked to the curriculum, arts or environmental educational projects.

Applications may be submitted at any time and are considered regularly throughout the year.

I have known Mansfield CVS for many years and have found them to be invaluable. They are currently working with Oak Tree NMT to manage our Lottery funded staff and as a group of volunteers, we would have struggled without them.
