The Nationwide Foundation’s Small Grants Programme makes grants every two months. Grants of up to £5,000 are available to registered charities with incomes of under £500,000. Our application process is very simple and we pride ourselves on processing grants quickly.

The Britannia Building Society Foundation is a registered charity and from January 2008, our yearly contributions to charities are £500,000! The Foundation offers grants and donations between £1,000 and £25,000 to registered charities and schools working within education, particularly numeracy and/or financial literacy. We believe that community involvement provides us with a significant way of putting our values into practice and of contributing to the communities in which we live and work. I've enclosed a copy of our grants and donations policy for you and if think you know of an organistion that might fit our criteria please feel free to pass it on to them. Anyone who thinks they may fit our donation criteria can contact me on this email address or at the address on the back of the document. We welcome applications from: Registered Charities and Schools: Any registered charity or school working within our key priorities and operating in an area where we have a high density of members. National Charities: Any national charity working within our key priorities that can ring fence their activities to a local community where we have a high density of members. Note: The Foundation prefers buying specific items of equipment but in some circumstances will consider capital expenditure and salary costs. For more information see attachment |

| HEALTH TRAINERS Now at Mansfield CVS a new Health Trainer team have been established to help improve and reduce the growing health inequalities faced by the people of Mansfield today. Health Trainers are a new workforce that have been employed from the local community and are trained by the NHS. They will be based at Mansfield CVS, though will be working predominantly in the local areas of Mansfield. At the moment the Health Trainer team are still in the training phase of development, but they are able to help and direct people to current services to aid and find help with health options. The team will finish training at the end of August 2009 from which point a full one to one health action plan service will be available. Health Trainers are not qualified to give medical advice. If you have a high risk medical condition, e.g. heart condition or uncontrolled high blood pressure, you are advised to see your GP or practice nurse before making any major lifestyle changes. |
