Become a Member

All community groups and voluntary sector organisations who are based in or deliver services across the County of Nottinghamshire are welcome to become general members of Mansfield CVS. 

Other Statutory and Private Sector organisations and individuals are welcome to become Individual or associate members.

Benefits of membership:

    • Membership is free
    • You will receive email bulletins, information and training programmes
    • Opportunity to promote your activities via our website, newsletter, networking events and bulletins
    • Support and access to funding advice, policy development, best practice and training
    • Assistance with managing and recruiting staff, volunteers and Board members
    • Direct representation at local, regional and national levels
    • Opportunity to become a member of our Board and have voting rights at our AGM

Types of membership:

General membership is open to members of non-profit groups, charities and organizations, whose aims and objectives are broadly charitable (not for private or personal gain).

Individual membership is for persons who are interested in our operation and activities and will receive the full benefit of General membership.

Associate membership is for members of statutory and private sector organisations, who are interested in our operation and related activities.  Associate members will receive information and support, but will not have nomination privileges or voting rights at our AGM.

All members must be committed to Mansfield CVS ethos and Equal Opportunities policy.

Responsibilities of members:

It is expected that all members will participate in key activities of Mansfield CVS including our:

  • Annual General Meeting
  • Surveys
  • Forums and Consultations

I started working at Mansfield CVS aged just 18, initially as an admin apprentice studying a level 2 NVQ and later progressing to doing a “Higher” apprenticeship (NVQ level 3). It was my first job and when I began working here I had very low self-confidence and no practical work experience at all! Due to the nature of the work, helping other charities in the local area, and the lovely people I work with, I soon discovered I really enjoy working in the charity sector and would be very happy to have a career in it – something I had never considered prior to joining MCVS.
